Students of Undocu Academy are fundraising for the first Undocu Prom, and we need your support!
Undocu Prom will bring together up to 60 undocumented youth and their invited guests for an evening of celebration, dancing, and dining. The pandemic has prevented many undocumented high school students from properly celebrating themselves. We want to celebrate ourselves and past alumni for their accomplishments. The evening will begin with a small ceremony honoring this year's graduates. This event is for students who were a part of our Undocu Academy and Dream Teams. Undocu Prom will take place in early summer 2023.
Proceeds will allow us to pay for:
- Prom venue rental and A/V fees
- Food and beverages (non-alcoholic)
- Stipends for prom outfits for Undocu Academy alumni
- DJ
- Decorations
- Polaroid cameras
- Photographer
- Gift bags for the graduating seniors
- Transportation for prom attendees
- Transportation of supplies
- Fundraising platform fees
- Miscellaneous supplies (plates, cups, etc.) and unforeseen expenses
Unspent funds will support Undocu Academy and other undocumented youth-led programs at the NYSYLC.

ABOUT US
Undocu Academy is a program for undocumented high school seniors in New York City, started in 2020. We provide mentorship, 1-1 guidance with college and financial aid applications, workshops on options after high school and adulting as undocumented students, and scholarship opportunities. Undocu Academy is a program of the NYSYLC (New York State Youth Leadership Council), the first undocumented youth-led organization in New York. We work to empower immigrant youth through leadership development, grassroots organizing, educational advancement, and self-expression. Our goal is to give undocumented youth the tools and space to organize and create change in our communities. You may make a donation to the NYSYLC here.
